Friday night and a Camden double bill of a gig at The Underworld followed by clubbing at The Electric Ballroom for their Full Tilt night. Loads of people were out and a great night beckoned.
I’d seen first support, Witching Hour, a few years before (GIG 098) and had really enjoyed them at the time. They weren’t as good this evening but were still enjoyable enough and made a good intro band for the nights proceedings.
Dream Disciples, the second band to hit the stage, was a band I’d heard of before but had never seen. They were really good and I’m pretty sure I went on to see them a few more times over the years until they split up in 2004.
The Marionettes was the band I had come to see though. I’d seen them twice before, in 1992 (GIG 104) and 1994 (GIG 155) and had loved them both times. They didn’t disappoint and played an excellent set, continuing their fine form of past gigs.
