Welcome to #RPGaDAY2022! Now in its ninth year, #RPGaDAY was originally created by RPG author and games designer David Chapman (Conspiracy X, Doctor Who, etc) as a bit of fun and to get people talking about tabletop roleplaying games. August was chosen, I believe, to coincide with tabletop roleplaying’s gaming mecca that is Gen Con – which usually takes place in the States (Inidanapolis these days) every August.
#RPGaDAY is open to everyone so if you want to join in just check out the prompts below to inspire a blog, vlog, or social media post to celebrate everything great about our hobby with the tag #RPGaDAY2022

Day 20 : How long do your games last?
I’m taking this question to mean ‘length of session’, as opposed to ‘length of campaign’. Primarily because campaign length varies so much.
Generally our gaming ‘session’ seems to be about 3-4 hours. This is constrained by usually playing on a weekday evening so having to cater for everyone to arrive, settle in for the game and get the pre-game banter and chat out of the way, and then get home afterwards due to having to get to work the following day. We probably manage more along the 3 hour mark than the 4 to be honest. Wish it was longer, and it certainly was when we were younger.
