After three gigs in a row I ended up almost a full month before my next gig, and only managed to get one in August. August had been a very busy month, not least as I spent a week of it in America split between Chicago and my first US Gen Con in Milwaukee where we were launching a new tabletop gaming magazine called Valkyrie.
The US trip was fantastic (and I’m sure I’ll write more about that in another column in the future) but it was back to old Blighty and London Town and that meant getting myself out to see more live music… and as it was a Sunday that obviously meant I was (once again) down at The Marquee on Charing Cross Road.
I’d seen all three bands the Sunday night ‘Goth Night’ at the Marquee. Vendemmian and Enrapture I’d seen multiple times and Redemption I’d seen earlier in the year in Nottingham when I went up to Rocjk City with Restoration II (GIG 163).
Enrapture and Vendemmian were both alright. I’d seen better from Vendemmian, and a lot worse from Enrapture. But band of the night for me, sandwich between the other two, was Redemption who I thought put on a great set and really impressed me – more than they had at Rock City back in April.
