I’m not entirely sure why I headed to The Marquee to see Children on Stun and Enrapture. I’d seen both bands before and neither had really impressed me. I suspect it was more to see everyone else who was attending, and to give Children on Stun another chance to change my mind about them. Or maybe to flyer for some other bands, as I was doing a little of that at the time too.
The Marquee was packed, which on a hot June summers evening also meant it was pretty clammy and sweaty – even more than usual.
Both bands were pretty much what I was expecting them to be on past experience. I wasn’t really impressed by either. They weren’t terrible, but just weren’t hitting that sweet spot for me. If anything I actually slightly preferred Enrapture on the night to headliners, Children on Stun.
