It was the day before my 20th birthday and my 100th gig… and what better band to see to celebrate it than one of the best all-time live bands, the mighty Levellers.

I’d seen The Levellers only once before (the previous October (GIG 093) at The Town & Country Club in Kentish Town) but this time they were at one of my favourite venues, Brixton Academy, and had Back To The Planet in support.

I’d heard quite a bit of Back to the Planet, although I’d not seen them live before, but on this occasion I thought they were ‘alright’ but certainly didn’t wow me.

The Levellers, however, were unsurprisingly excellent once again. Brixton Academy was alive and sweaty, but in with the endurance of youth we all still managed to head out for a nights clubbing at The Electric Ballroom afterwards 😉

I was joined by Dawn, Joe, Dan, Ian and Adam at the gig with Martin, Michelle and Louise joining us at the club afterwards.
