Along with reams of short stories, and longer attempts at fiction, I’ve written countless poems over the decades. The bulk were written in my teens and twenties and I literally have folders full of handwritten and typewritten compositions. I’d been threatening to put a selection into print since the mid-90’s. I remember discussing it with … Continue reading (Poetry) Like Kisses

GIG 306 : All Living Fear – Camden Palace, 5th September 1996
I can't remember the name of it but a couple of friends had decided to start a goth night at Camden Palace on Thursdays. I'm not sure it was weekly as the only times I went was the first Thursday in September and the first Thursday in October - so it was quite possibly monthly. … Continue reading GIG 306 : All Living Fear – Camden Palace, 5th September 1996
Angus’ Most Played Top 100 Bands January 2023
Ever since 2010 I’ve kept track of the music I listen to each month. It’s fascinating to see how some bands stay with me over the years whilst others have their moment on my stereo before vanishing from my mind… well, until years later when I check out to see what I was listening to … Continue reading Angus’ Most Played Top 100 Bands January 2023

GIG 304 : Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds / Dirty Three – Brixton Academy, 15th August 1996
I love Nick Cave but had never seen him live before this gig. It was part of The Murder Ballads Tour, which is also one of my top two Nick Cave albums so was a fantastic way to experience my first Nick Cave gig. The gig was also notable for the very special guest appearance … Continue reading GIG 304 : Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds / Dirty Three – Brixton Academy, 15th August 1996
GIG 303 : Oasis / Manic Street Preachers / The Charlatans / Cast / Dreadzone / Kula Shaker – Knebworth Park, 11th August 1996
This was probably the hottest ticket of the summer of 1996. Oasis were kings of the world and were playing two massive sold out dates at Knebworth Park, with a host of support acts on each of the days. 2.5 million people tried to get tickets for these gigs, with the gigs braking box office … Continue reading GIG 303 : Oasis / Manic Street Preachers / The Charlatans / Cast / Dreadzone / Kula Shaker – Knebworth Park, 11th August 1996
