(RPG PDF Spotlight) 100 Hooks and Rumours for an Urban Fantasy Setting

100 Hooks and Rumours for an Urban Fantasy Setting

Systemless Supplement by Azukail Games

This supplement has 100 rumours to hear in an urban fantasy setting. The rumours are presented in a way indicating that the majority of the population doesn’t suspect that there is a world behind the one they are used to, and things that lack explanations under the rules of the world they know are still being used to try and explain things that cannot be explained by them. Those in the know will realise there’s something else going on. The rumours can be used as potential adventure hooks or just background colour.

This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier.

Here are some sample results:

  • In one area in the city, many of those who pass through it have reported hearing voices seemingly coming from nowhere. The official explanation is that the shape of the buildings means that sounds from somewhere out of sight are reflected into the area; however, other sounds would be expected as well, and only voices have been heard.
  • In various places in the city, corpses have been discovered with their expressions frozen into what appear to be rictuses of fear. There is no official cause of death as yet, but it’s said that the unofficial one is that all of the people were frightened to death.
  • Investigations are ongoing into the recent collapse of a building. Though shoddy workmanship and poor materials, thanks to a contractor cutting corners, are currently being blamed, reportedly those who saw the collapse claim the building just dissolved, like snow in the sun, but speeded up.
  • It’s claimed that there was recently a murder, and though the dead body was witnessed by several people, by the time the police turned up to investigate, it had vanished. This despite the body having reputedly been left inside a room that was locked from the outside and still locked when the police arrived.
  • It’s said that sometimes a train of a type that hasn’t been seen in decades will occasionally pull into stations. It’s recommended not to get on it if it does, for those who do board the train will be taken to a station that was destroyed long ago.

One page is the front cover, one the front matter and most of one is ads.
