It’d been a few weeks since I’d last been at Camden Palace for their Feet First club night but here I was, in The Southampton Arms with friends on a Tuesday night with the Palace across the street beckoning to us all. It would have bad not to pop over for a few hours of dancing and to see who was playing the midnight slot.

As it happened it was Audioweb who were playing this week. I’d seen Audioweb the previous year supporting Echobelly at The Underworld (GIG 244) and had enjoyed them but, for some reason, I wasn’t keen on them this time round. They just felt a bit flat with no energy. They weren’t a band I listened to at home in the first place, and not particularly a style of music I enjoyed – so it was probably a combination of things – not least having seen so many good bands over the last week that tonights performance felt worse than it probably was.
