GIG 282: Joyrider – Camden Palace, 7th May 1996

After the Zoe gig at The Water Rats Michael and I headed the short distance to Mornington Crescent for Camden Palace’s Feet First clubnight.

This evening’s midnight band were Joyrider, whom I’d seen and enjoyed the previous December supporting Therapy (GIG 253). They were a rock band from Northern Ireland who’d released a few singles and EPs. They had an album out this year, “Be Special”, and a couple of months after this gig would get their first, and only, Top 40 hit with a cover version of Jane Wiedlin’s “Rush Hour”, which reached #22.

A solid and very good live band.
