LARP by Rat In A Suit Productions
In the aftermath of the Second World War, the United States and the Soviet Union have found themselves as the world’s two superpowers, while the British Empire has become increasingly irrelevant on the global stage. In response to this, the British government has organised a series of conferences throughout the summer of 1955, bringing together the nation’s greatest minds in hopes of sparking some innovation that might change the country’s future.
As such, the Bright Futures Conference has been organised, taking place towards the tail end of the summer of 1955. It will bring together the nation’s scientific community, with academics from across the country invited to attend. It is expected to be an evening of drinks and scientific conversation.
Yet all is not well within Britain’s scientific community.
In the weeks leading up to the conference, two of Britain’s most prominent scientists have died in seemingly unrelated accidents. Yet rumours are spreading throughout the scientific community that their deaths may not have been as accidental as they first appeared.
Meanwhile, members of the Communist Party of Great Britain are preparing to hold a private meeting during the conference, whose outcome will determine the future of the British communist movement.
The Bright Futures Conference promises to be an evening that its attendees will not soon forget.
Bright Futures is a LARP about spies, espionage and Cold War intrigue, inspired by the works of John le Carré and Graham Greene. Players take on the roles of attendees at the conference, each with their own secrets and objectives. The LARP is designed for 9-13 players, requires at least one facilitator, and takes approximately 2-2.5 hours to play.
Bright Futures is available through DriveThruRPG in PDF.
