The societies of today have fallen and risen a new, from their corpses a new kind of rot forms. A rot that is all man made. Vonya is a table top role playing game that takes place in a dystopian future civilization that sits where a small portion of Russia and Ukraine do today. The world of Vonya, also called Voyennyy, takes a lot of inspiration from the cyberpunk games and rpg, while incorporating classic fantasy elements like bows and arrows in place of modern weaponry. Though, modern weaponry still exists, it just sits in the hands of the oligarchs who control the world and are exceedingly rare. The game plays far more like a fantasy rpg, putting those beloved tropes into a sci-fi world that allows for more modern stories. While there are no dragons and princesses to save, the core elements remain. Instead you’ll be fighting off a hyper intelligent mutant lizard who’s kidnapped the daughter of an executive, the same fame and fortune comes with it, but the price is for failure is abject and eternal poverty.
This game is not for those who want to avoid the problems that infect our modern world, as poverty and corporatocracy still remain in Voyennyy. They reign even stronger than they do today. This game is for those who want to glimpse the future we rocket towards today. This game is for those who love killing fascists and doing as they please despite the crushing systems that govern. This game is for those who wanna wage war on the oppressors
