100 Creepy and Strange Encounters on a Spaceship

Perhaps the characters have stumbled across a starship, drifting through space, or crash-landed on a planet. Perhaps they have recently purchased an old one with a history. Perhaps their own ship has suddenly started acting weird, or they are making a trip on a ship where strange things happen. This supplement has 100 creepy encounters for such a spaceship. Though they may not be horrific, they are often inexplicable and seem to break known physical laws, suggesting that there is something more going on, or perhaps the ship has intersected with a region that has different laws. The encounters can be used as background colour or as potential adventure hooks.

This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier.

Here are some sample results:

• Shadows move past the exterior ports, as if something just moved by it, temporarily blocking any light, yet nothing can ever be seen through them.
• Sitting on the floor in one room is a small crate. It proves to be impossible to move, though it’s clearly not fastened down. The impression given is that it’s incredibly heavy, though if it was as heavy as it appears to be, it should break through the floor.
• Stacked in a cupboard in the galley are a variety of jars and containers containing different substances, including many minerals. Analysing them all reveals that the substances are all found in the human body.
• The computer system has a habit of giggling, especially when something goes wrong. Running diagnostics on it shows that there’s nothing wrong.
• The deeper into the ship a person gets, the more primitive the technology gets, going from completely modern starship technology to something that looks suitable for the earliest days of spaceflight.
