One Night One Monster is a rules-light tabletop RPG of modern-day occult investigation, built to deliver a complete horror story in a single night at the table. You and your fellow investigators are ordinary people who take the cases nobody official will touch. You’ll follow the clues, piece together the truth, and then decide what to do about it—kill it, contain it, or run. If you’re lucky, everyone drives home at dawn. Nobody’s always lucky.

The First Night includes our Core Rulebook and a complete starter adventure offering up to four hours of gameplay for a group of four.

Everything you need, nothing you don’t:

• One d12 runs the entire game. No dice pools, just a single die.
• Characters in ten minutes. Pick one of eight Archetypes, roll your starting cash, and you’re playing.
• No leveling, ever. Every module in the series is playable by any group, in any order.
• Fear that follows you. Fail to hold your nerve, and you’ll carry phobias from one adventure into the next.
• Trade the Lore Master’s chair. Because every adventure is self-contained, groups can swap who runs the game each session. Everyone gets to play. Everyone gets to be afraid.

Includes a complete adventure: The Long Hunger at Calder Deep. Your client is Roy Eberhardt. His fourteen-year-old daughter, Nessa, walked out of the house three nights ago and did not come back. She is the fourth person to vanish in Cold Ash this winter, and the sheriff has stopped pretending to look. Roy begged you to come before the snow closes the road for good.

Grab a d12. Turn down the lights. You have one night.
