The year is 1867; the war has been over for two years. The South is still recovering from the destruction of the war. Families lost loved ones or have been wiped out.
During the war and after, to avoid these calamities, some family members made deals with demons who had been taking advantage of the carnage done during and post-war. Desperate people are willing to do whatever a twisted demon wants. All to spare their loved ones or survive the economic despair that others are going through. Easy pickings of souls to collect all for a moment of peace.
In this game, each of you plays a member of special bloodlines—bloodlines that have had some brush with the supernatural or have a history of combating the forces of evil. The characters are the heroes trying to save those exploited or tortured by these foul, dark entities.
This is the core rule book for Southern Gothic. In this, you will find all you need to make characters from specific bloodlines or make your own with interesting and rich backgrounds. A gamemaster has all they will need to craft a unique horror setting with rules that are easy to learn and work well within the setting.
Southern Gothic is an immersive game that pulls you into the mysterious, dark gothic horror permeating so much of the South’s supernatural history. Your character can be the guardian of the innocent and thwart the evil that threatens to engulf the region.
