There is an uneasy truce in the Vinson’s Run system. Nobody particularly likes the Church of the Light Fathers, but they own an asteroid in system and they grow good hyperweed. So, Mat-Duba Collective, the main settlement in the system, tolerates the CoLF missionaries that frequent their spaceport as long as their ships are also carrying hyperweed.
25 years ago, Murgen Thrax abandoned the True Family of Light to found his own church, the Church of the Light Fathers. He taught that ancient aliens seeded this galaxy with light and life, and one day will return to claim the faithful. 10 years ago, the church got into the hyperweed business, and used the proceeds to buy asteroid VR-2467-xp, which they turned into a habitat and christened Lumos Station. 4 years ago, they gained a wave of converts with their claim that they found an artifact of the Light Fathers.
Now, they’ve gone oddly silent, and the hyperweed supply is running low.

At the cult’s center, an ancient force warps everything that it touches, including the council leaders. Their twisted desires are a web your crew will get caught in; the question is whether they can make it out without being changed themselves.
