Avalon Rising is a science fiction roleplaying game set in Avalon 01, a vast underground megacity that has housed humanity for over two thousand years. Built layer upon layer, Avalon is divided by rigid social strata, from the privileged Upper Echelon, through the crowded Mid-Quarters, down into the dangerous Undercroft and the abandoned depths beyond.

Players take on the role of Citizens navigating life inside Avalon’s fractured society. Some work for powerful institutions, others scrape by on the margins, and many are drawn into dangerous jobs that push them into forgotten levels, unstable districts, and places where things no longer behave as they should.

At the heart of the city lies Central Dogma, the immense power source that keeps Avalon alive. Maintained by the Keepers Guild, Dogma is vital, unstable, and prone to catastrophic leaks. When this energy escapes containment, it warps environments, creates anomalies, and draws threats that most citizens are never meant to see.

Avalon Rising focuses on investigation, survival, and social tension within a tightly controlled city on the edge of failure. Every layer has its own rules, dangers, and expectations, and every job carries consequences.

Dice System

Avalon Rising uses a streamlined dice system built around Trait Dice and Skill Dice, ranging from D6 to D12. Players roll two dice and attempt to roll under a target number, with lower results representing greater success. This system emphasizes tension, risk, and escalating consequences as situations spiral out of control.
