Solo Journaling Game by Candlenaut
PocketQuest 2026 is DriveThruRPG’s 5th annual game jam. All the games must be standalone titles and 25 pages or less (inlcuding cover). This years theme is Time Travel.
This is a solo pure journaling game about a Navy crewman lost between two lives.
You were aboard the U.S.S. Eldridge during the Philadelphia Experiment. Then something went wrong. You wake in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1905, inside a life that seems to have always belonged to you. There are rooms, clothes, papers, habits, people who know your name, and memories that tell you how to live there. But you remember everything. You remember the experiment, and you definitelly know that this life is not yours.
As you write your journal, you will follow strange signs through Providence: altered records, weird places, frightened witnesses, horrific events, and objects that should never have reached this time. You will meet a young boy, a boy who sees more than he should, and whose future words may already be casting shadows into this world.

Using a standard deck of cards, each chapter gives you prompts to shape your story. You will build scenes, answer questions, lose parts of the life that was forced on you, and uncover the horror beneath Providence piece by piece. This is not a game about winning a fight against the unknown. It is about memory, identity, and the terrible cost of finding your way back, because after each chapter you will loose a part of you and your life.
