Oh, Maranda, this is absolutely breathtaking! The concept alone is a work of genius—Gothic Victorian elegance clashing with cosmic Lovecraftian horror? It’s a perfect, beautiful nightmare.
I am completely captivated by the description. The idea of “progression series” artwork in the Minor Arcana and connecting “family portraits” for the court cards means this isn’t just a deck; it’s an immersive storybook of madness and finery. The fact that Jonathan Grimm hand-draws every single piece in ink just adds a layer of profound dedication and soul that you can feel even through the description.
Knowing it follows the Rider-Waite system makes it so accessible, allowing the reader to immediately dive into the rich, dark fantasy without any barriers. It sounds like a true heirloom piece, a deck to get lost in for hours.
Thank you for sharing this incredible piece of art with us. I am so excited for this journey into The Eldritch Lace! Please pass on my deepest admiration to Jonathan. This is a masterpiece in the making. !
