GIG 070: Sisters of Mercy / The Mothers – Wembley Arena, 26th November 1990

This was the second time in three days that I was at Wembley Arena to see what was probably my favourite band of the time (and still among my favourites today). I was the only one of the group who had been to the gig on Saturday that also had tickets for Monday night too, but this time I was joined by Nick, Donna, Orla, Mark, Sunil and Louise.

Whilst Wembley Arena was not my favourite venue, The Sisters had once again packed it out. I still didn’t like having seats (as this was before Wembley Arena started to leaving the front of the stage open so no one had an option other than seats) but Eldritch and co. didn’t disappoint in the slightest. I actually enjoyed this gig more than the one a couple of days earlier, but I think that’s because I knew what to expect more (with Wembley) and whilst on Saturday I was possibly a little star struck at finally seeing The Sisters live, this time round I could just relax and really enjoy the music and show without my internal monologue going “OMG! I am finally seeing them!!!!” ;p
