Written for old-school and science-fantasy campaigns, Journal of the Blood Sands: Issue One is a system-light setting zine introducing Xanathos — a post-apocalyptic world built by gods and left to rot.

This is the foundation issue: history, factions, and a sandbox ready to run. Inside:

• The Silver Empire — its rise, its catastrophic end, and the irradiated desert it left behind
• Factions, clans, and city-states locked in a cold war over the ruins of a dead civilization
• Memorable NPCs, strange technologies, and open-ended plot hooks for referees to build from

Journal of the Blood Sands is a growing line of setting zines for the Blood Sands — a science-fantasy sandbox on the moon Xanathos, one of 97 terraformed worlds orbiting a colossal gas giant. The line pairs with Denizens of the Blood Sands (OSE bestiary, 56pp) for a complete toolkit to run the setting.
