Honorbound is a science fantasy tabletop RPG of swashbuckling adventure, espionage, and chivalric intrigue set among the stars. Inspired by The Three Musketeers, Star Wars, Firefly, The Man in the Iron Mask, Deathstalker, and the character foibles of Charles Dickens‘ works, this universe is ripe for exploration and adventure. Navigate political intrigue, forge alliances, and face moral quandaries in a setting where honor is your guiding star.
Will you be a reformed warrior of the insectoid Othen, taking on the pain of others as penance for your people’s past? A Wound by Tension Game
Honorbound is powered by the Tension Engine, and brings some new twists to the same system that fueled the 80s alt-history horror of Party First. This Creative Commons licensed SRD brings a unique blend of simplicity and depth to your gaming table. Using six-sided dice (d6s), players build a pool from an attribute plus a skill to engage in conflicts, selecting two dice from the rolled pool to determine the outcome. Whether you’re negotiating with alien diplomats or navigating the treacherous terrain of a new planet, the Tension Engine provides a thrilling experience.
Meta Currencies: Saga Points, Tension Points, and Unity
Players earn Saga Points, a meta currency that can be spent to keep additional dice, influence the story, or even alter the fate of their characters. The Game Master (GM) wields Tension Points to raise the stakes, creating challenges that will test the party’s resolve. And don’t forget about Unity—the measure of your party’s cohesion. As your group faces trials and tribulations, Unity will be the key to your survival and success.
