Howard (Bran Mak MornConan), Charles Saunders (Imaro, Dossouye), Bernard Cornwell (The Warlord ChroniclesThe Last Kingdom), and Simon Scarrow (Eagles of the Empire), among others. Reaver couples heroism, dark sorcery, and weird horror, with gritty realism and a pseudo-historical setting.
