Prowlers & Paragons Scenario Anthology by Harmless Forest Creature Games
Few people realize that the moon is practically littered with ruins. There are Atlantean and Lemurian ruins built before humans began reckoning time and a great many structures, cities, and bases built since the 1950s, when governments—locked in the Cold War—tried colonizing our nearest celestial neighbor. Most of these were abandoned after a few years because of the great cost and minimal strategic advantage. There are alien bases as well, built by extraterrestrial empires with the goal of spying on the Earth or planning its invasion. There’s even an antediluvian jungle under a dome on the far side of the moon, teeming with savagery—dinosaurs and alien monsters battle prehistoric human tribespeople transported here thousands or millions of years ago by an unknown intelligence.
The majority of the moon ruins were built by supervillain masterminds, nearly all of whom constructed at least one moon base during their career. Most of these bases were destroyed during battles with superheroes and abandoned. Enough of these former supervillain bases remain that there is a small but lucrative business in exploring the ruins and salvaging the remains of the various super-science projects the villains were working on. Some of the bases are still pressurized, at least in part. Others are little more than a crater, but there’s usually something valuable to be found… if you can get past the automated defenses and abandoned bioengineered monsters.
The Moon Ruins contains seven adventures for your heroes to take one small step into exploring the vast universe by visiting our celestial satellite. It also introduces new villains (who your characters might encounter on the moon or elsewhere) for your Prowlers & Paragons campaign. Finally, it features Celestial Salvage, a professional organization—part archaeologists, part salvage operation, and part looters—that has a lucrative business exploring old moon bases.
Moon Ruins is available through DriveThruRPG in Print and PDF.
