Uprising is a sandbox setting for Modern War, a realistic but fictional country that is intended to provide a detailed environment but without connections to the complexities of real world politics. Play as locals caught in the fight, or as Western allies deployed to Hursania to conduct infantry operations in support of the central government.
Includes guidance on running a Military Intelligence campaign.
A small mountainous country, Hursania has been designed with the Balkans or Caucasus in mind but can be placed wherever you want. It is a complex country with multiple ethnic groups and a tumultuous history, all of which has sown the seeds of its current crises. Players and GMs are free to use any combination of the scenarios in this book and are free to have Hursania facing one, two or all three conflicts presented here. Use the scenarios that interest you. Note that Hursania is a completely fictional country and not based on any single real-world nation or conflict. It takes inspiration from a number of actual nations and conflicts from across the globe, brought together into one self-contained package.
