The Ritual of Silence is the third adventure in “The Rite of Passage” story arc for the Referee sci-fantasy universe. In this module, the characters leave the relative safety of the Living Ring to face the ultimate test: the descent toward the forbidden surface of Ma’ia.
They are no longer just candidates, but pioneers launched toward the unknown on a one-way trip. Their mission? Survive the crash, navigate a hostile alien ecosystem, and recover the secrets of a lost expedition.
Inside this module, you will find:
- The Descent: An adrenaline-fueled crisis management minigame to determine the outcome of the POD landing and the survivors’ starting status and resources.
- Survival Horror & Hexcrawl: Specific mechanics for exploring the jungles of Ma’ia, where every choice consumes resources and tests the players’ sanity.
- Hostile Environment: Rules for surviving organic acid rivers, hallucinogenic spores, and the oppressive gravity of the mother planet.
- New Bestiary: 5 original creatures (including the lethal Monocle Spiders and the terrifying Ma’ia Drake) ready to hunt the party.
- Expanded Lore: Discover the dark secrets of the 12 previous expeditions and the disturbing legacy of the Lyndrusite faction.
