It is early in September, 1925 at an old farmhouse in rural Kentucky, just a few miles outside Winchester.  Home to Grant and Hattie Murphy, the house once full of children is now empty except for them.  It has for such a long time been an idyllic and peaceful home for them.  Recently however, something has gone wrong.   As a mine engineer, Grant is a problem solver at heart, but this one is beyond him, and Hattie is dismissive of his concerns.  He will need help from the Investigators to solve this particular conundrum.

The oddities Grant has noticed on his farm are part of a new face to an old curse that has plagued Kentucky since the time of its earliest settlers.
