Ever since 2010 I’ve kept track of the music I listen to each month. It’s fascinating to see how some bands stay with me over the years whilst others have their moment on my stereo before vanishing from my mind… well, until years later when I check out to see what I was listening to way back when in any case!

Anyway, I ran a Top 50 (which turned in to a Top 100) bands of the month chart on various social media platforms recording my listening habits for posterity and to share my earworms of the month. I listen to a lot of music when working, and also when relaxing. My tastes are fairly broad and I love discovering new bands, as well as new sounds and genres.

August saw a big turnaround in my Top 100. Half the list is different from my July one, which I think is a first. August saw 22 new bands make it into the Top 100 for the first time and 28 re-entries!

The highest new entry was Cult of Luna who came straight in at #15. Joining them as new entries in the Top 50 were Saint Mesa (#23), Radio Roadhouse (#36), Wisteria Lodge (#38), Hemelbestormer (#48) and adamisagirl (#49). Other new enteries inluded Fat Dog (#51), Sigur Ros (#73), Sunday’s Child 9 (#74) and Chappell Roan (#84).

Leading the 28 re-entries was Manet at #20, with Mind.In.A.Box, So Below, Lamb and Priest following suit at #23, #25, #26 and #28 respectively. Some of the other re-enteries included Combichrist (#33), The Decil & The Universe (#41), The Lovecraft Sextet (#43), Nova Twins (#54), Bambie Thug (#76), and Collide (#91).
