I loved my Tuesday nights at Feet First, the alternative night hosted by Jonathon and Eko. Each week they hosted the club night, featuring a live performance at midnight (occasionally two) and then continued with the club night afterwards.
The bands ranged from the fairly well known, to the fairly obscure, but tended to be ones that had a buzz in the music press of the times (Sounds, Melody Maker and NME).
I’d been going to Feet First since 1990 and had built up a number of friends from the other regulars and one of the things we always tried to do – regardless how often we still made it to the club – was all go there on the last Tuesday before the Christmas holidays.
So, here I was once again in Mornington Crescent on a chilly December Tuesday evening. Quick stop at the Southampton Arms before heading over to Camden Palace to party the rest of the night away.
The band on this occasion was My Life Story. The band, comprising of about a dozen members, had a few Top 40 hits during the mid-90’s, elevated to fashion thanks to the Britpop era that was in full swing at the time. They had quite an orchestral pop sound.
They were pretty good live, although not really my cup of tea music wise.
