Welcome to #RPGaDAY2023! Now in its tenth year, #RPGaDAY was originally created by RPG author and games designer David Chapman (Conspiracy X, Doctor Who, etc) as a bit of fun and to get people talking about tabletop roleplaying games. August was chosen, I believe, to coincide with tabletop roleplaying’s gaming mecca that is Gen Con – which usually takes place in the States (Inidanapolis these days) every August.
#RPGaDAY is open to everyone so if you want to join in just check out the prompts below to inspire a blog, vlog, or social media post to celebrate everything great about our hobby with the tag #RPGaDAY2023

Day 4: Most Recent Game Brought
The most recent game I brought was the Rivers of London RPG from Chaosium. Based upon the urban fantasy series by Ben Aaronovitch, a series I’ve really enjoyed ever since the first book back in 2011, the game sees the players take on the roles of newly recruited members of ‘The Folly’ – the special magical brand of London’s Metrropolitan Police.
The game uses the Basic Roleplaying System, which powers some of Chaosium’s other games, such as the mega-popular Call of Cthulhu.
I was waiting for someone to snap up the license for the novel series, and Chaosium (and BRP) are a great fit for the setting. We’ve just started playing a campaign of this at home.
