Welcome to #RPGaDAY2023! Now in its tenth year, #RPGaDAY was originally created by RPG author and games designer David Chapman (Conspiracy X, Doctor Who, etc) as a bit of fun and to get people talking about tabletop roleplaying games. August was chosen, I believe, to coincide with tabletop roleplaying’s gaming mecca that is Gen Con – which usually takes place in the States (Inidanapolis these days) every August.
#RPGaDAY is open to everyone so if you want to join in just check out the prompts below to inspire a blog, vlog, or social media post to celebrate everything great about our hobby with the tag #RPGaDAY2023

Day 2 : First RPG Gamemaster
My first tabletop RPG was in the August of 1984. I had just moved to the middle of nowhere (literally – I think we were lucky to have more than maybe 700 people in the area and the nearest town of any size was about 20-or so miles away and that only had a 6000 population) in Washington State, USA. Lots of mountains, trees, and lakes.
I was living with my aunt and cousins. Two of my cousinswere still living at home and both played Dungeons & Dragons. On my second day living there they introduced me to roleplaying (Keep on the Borderlands I believe) and I was hooked. I’m not entirely sure which of my cousins ran the game – either Matt or Jason. Possibly Matt as he was the older of the two (I was 12, Jason was 13 and Matt was 16 I think). In either case I had blast and haven’t stopped rolling those dice!
